Government 311 web application is designed to showcase some of the core
capabilities of ArcGIS 10 through a simple, modern, Web 2.0 style user
interface. Using this application, citizens can submit request for service in
their neighborhood. Citizens can report issues such as pothole, graffiti, trash,
traffic, construction and others. These incident types are configurable. The app
provides facility to report issues by entering an address or simply by clicking
on the map at desired location. Citizens can also view all issues in their
neighborhood. While creating an issue, citizens can add a brief description and
attach photos. Citizens can also post comments, which can be viewed by other
users as well. Service administrators can then work on the issue analyze issue
statistics, close issues and send updates which can be received upon
subscription via Twitter or e-mail.
